What is FoSTaC?
FoSTaC stands for Food Safety Training and Certification. It is the training programme of the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) that certifies Food Safety Supervisors. Training is delivered by FSSAI-empanelled training partners, and the certificate is issued through the official FoSTaC portal.
Who needs FoSTaC training?
Anyone who handles food. Cooks, servers, delivery and cleaning staff take the Basic level. Supervisors, managers and licence holders take the Advanced level. Licensed food businesses are expected to have trained, certified supervisors on site, and training the whole team keeps every shift covered. Restaurants, hotels, caterers, cloud kitchens, bakeries, sweet shops, dairies, food manufacturers, canteens and storage and transport operators all come under the programme.
FoSTaC course levels
- Awareness level: a short introduction (about 2 to 4 hours).
- Basic level: the foundation course for food handlers (about 4 hours).
- Advanced level: supervisor training (about 8 to 12 hours), offered by sector such as catering, manufacturing, milk and milk products, storage and transport, and more.
- Special courses: for particular settings and roles.

Why it matters in Maharashtra right now
The Maharashtra FDA, led by Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe, has stepped up inspections, suspended licences and issued improvement notices across restaurants, dairies and cloud kitchens. A June 2026 state order also expects food-safety training for staff who handle food. Training early protects your licence, your customers and your brand.

We run FoSTaC training in Pune, Mumbai, Thane, Navi Mumbai, Pimpri-Chinchwad, Nashik, Nagpur, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Kolhapur and Solapur, in classroom batches or at your premises, in English, Hindi and Marathi.
